BioBiologically the Hatter is 28 years old. 'Reginald' suffers from low-grade mercury poisoning as did many hatters in the Victorian era. A mercury compound was used to make the popular felt hats and the hat-makers unintentionally breathed the fumes. This can cause a varied myrad of delightful side-effects such as paranoia, hyperactivity, aggression, wild mood swings, hair pigment loss, forgetfulness, hallucinations, muscle jitters and much more. This is the reason for much of Reginald's 'insanity' which fluctuates based on how much mercury he's being exposed to. It's also the reason his hair is white.
Most of his life was spent in Wonderland, making hats for the inhabitants, drinking exorbitant amounts of tea and caring for the ever sleepy Doormouse. He has a bit of a love/hate relationship with Alice(whom I don't know here but hopes she forgives me, Reginald is awesome). He's a goof, pretty much, with the attention span of a hyperactive goldfish.
